The body of a middle aged man was recovered from city's Mirpur area Sunday night. The dead was identified as Delwar Hossain Mintu,40, an employee of a buying house of Banani area. He hailed from Morelganj upazila of Bagerhat district.

Family sources said Mintu went to his working place from his Mirpur residence at about 8am but did not return home at night.

Mirpur thana police recovered Mintu's body from a road near Pikepara government staff quarter at about 10 pm and sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital Morgue for autopsy early Monday.

Mintu's body bore some injury marks but the motive behind the killing could not be ascertained immediately.

A case was filed.
