Police, in different anticrime drives, rounded up 53 people, including two drug-peddlers on various charges, and seized 11 bottles of Phensidyl from different areas in the city and nine upazilas of the district in the last 24 hours till Sunday evening.

Of them, 21 were picked up from different areas in the metropolis while 32 others from nine upazilas, police said.

Drug-peddlers-Liton, 27, and Jewel Babu, 30, - were arrested with the Phensidyl from two separate places.

Traffic police lodged 29 cases under Motor Vehicles Ordinance and seized two tempos and a motorbike for plying on the streets without registration and other document-related malpractices in different parts of the city during the drives.
