Five detained with arms, ammo in Rangamati BSS, Rangamati In three separate drives in Belaichhari and Langadu upazilas, the security forces detained five miscreants and recovered six arms and 10 pieces of ammunition last night, Police said Monday. On information, the security forces rushed to Gilamachara under Belaichhari upazila, 40 kilometres off the district headquarters, at around 9 PM, but sensing the presence of law enforces the miscreants started firing and at one stage they fled, leaving arms and ammunition. Later, the security forces demolished the den of miscreants and recovered one SMG, two locally made guns, one magazine and nine bullets. In another drive, the security forces detained a miscreant with a locally made gun at 2 PM Sunday from Malumma Para under Belaichhari upazila, the sources said. The miscreant was identified as Shanti Bikash Chakma, 22, son of Nibaran Chakma of Barkalak Para village under Jurachhari upazila. Besides, four miscreants were detained with two one-barrelled guns at 4 AM Sunday from Chaillatoli under Langadu upazila, 70 kilometres off the district headquarters.
