More than 500 teachers under Barisal : Education Board black listed

Our Correspondent, Barisal

More than five hundred teachers under Barisal Board have been black listed, it is learnt. Black listed teachers will not be entitled to be examiners in coming examinations.

According to Board sources it is learnt that the Board authority issued letters to selected teachers to receive examination scripts of SSC examinees of different subjects. Many teachers responded and engaged themselves in the work of examination of answer scripts of examinee students but more than five hundred teachers abstained from receiving the answer scripts. As a result, the teachers engaged in the work of examination of answer scripts had to undertake overwork. Under these circumstances, Board prepared a list of teachers who had refused to work as examiners of answer scripts. Controller of Examination of Board Md. Shah Alam informed that five hundred and twenty five teachers had not carried out the responsibility of examiners. These teachers were asked to show cause as to why they would not be black listed. Some of the teachers have replied citing illness as a cause while some have said they had not received any letter to carry out the duty of examiner. Board, however, informed that reasons cited by such teachers were not acceptable.

According to Board those teachers who remain busy with private tuition of students did not take part in the work of examination of answer scripts of SSC examinee students. As a result, Board has black listed them and has decided not to appoint them as examiners in future.
