A special court here on Thursday sentenced four robbers to three years imprisonment each in a robbery case.

The convicts Ekhlas Mia, Dhanu Mia, Dulal Mia and Omra Khan were also fined 5,000 each, in default, to suffer three months RI more.

According to the prosecution, the convicts swooped on Sayed Mia and Suzan Mia while they were returning to their house at Noapara village in Madhabpur upazila from a local market and looted their cash, mobile phone and other belongings. The victims filed a case against them under the Speedy Trial Act. After examining the witnesses and records Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate and Speedy Trial Tribunal Judge Mohammad Helaluddin pronou-nced the verdict.
