18 hurt in Thakurgaon lightning

Eighteen students of an orphanage were injured in a lightning at Old Thakurgaon in Sadar upazila yesterday.

Witnesses said the lightning struck on the mosque of Lillah Boarding Orphanage while they were preparing for Asr prayers.

Ten of the injured-Faisal, 15, Delwar Hossain, 14, Shariful Islam, 22, Safiqul Islam, 13, Abdul Halim, 13, Delwar, 15, Raju, 13, Mehedi Hasan, 13, Shahjahan, 12, and Nawab, 12 -- were admitted to Sadar hospital.
