Mystery shrouded the death of three members of a family at Shafipur village in Kaliakoir upazila yesterday morning.

Local sources said Faizul Islam, 50, and his wife Nasina Yasmin, 45, went to sleep along with their seven-year-old son Nayeem Sunday night.

In the morning, other family members entered the bedroom as the door was open and found the three dead on the bed at about 6am.

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police suspected that Faizul Islam, his wife and son have been killed in poisonous gas that emitted from the generator kept inside the bedroom as the bodies bore no injury marks.

Neighbors, however, said that they might have been killed following a land dispute.

Cause of the deaths can be confirmed only after the autopsy, said Officer-in-Charge of Kaliakoir Thana Nuruzzaman.
