A court here today sentenced two persons to seven years rigorous imprisonment (RI) each in an arms case.

The convicts were identified as Mizanur Rahman, 30, and Mojibur Hawlader, 32, of Banaripara upazila.

Judge of the Special Tribunal M Year Ali Mir delivered the verdict. The prosecution story, in brief, is that police in a raid on March 14, 2007 arrested Mizanur Rahman and Mojibur Hawlader from Banaripara Health Complexes with arms. SI Altaf Hossain filed a case against them with Banaripara police station. Police submitted charge sheet on April 3, 2007.

After examining witnesses and evidence the judge handed down the verdict.
