Mizanur Rahman Sikdar, 36, a Lance Nayek of 29 Rifle Battalion of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) of Joypurhat, was killed in a road accident on Bogra-Joypurhat road on Thursday.

BDR sources said the victim received serious injuries as a speedy truck knocked him down while he was crossing the road in the town.

Later, he was rushed to Zila Sadar hospital where the attending doctors declared him dead. Sikdar, son of Abdul Gani Sikdar, hailed from Bakerganj upazila under Barisal district.
