A meeting on Dots method organised by National Anti-Tuberculosis Association, Bangladesh (NATAB) of Rajbari district unit to eradicate Tuberculosis (TB) disease was held here on Thursday.

District Civil Surgeon Dr Md Bazlul Hoque presided over the meeting.

Rajbari Poura Mayor Mohammad Ali Chowdhury, Dr Mizanul Haque, Dr Md Rahim Baks and Dr Rafiqul Islam, among others, spoke on the occasion.

Government officials, civil society members, journalists, union parishad chairmen, ward commissioners, teachers, students, political leaders, NGO activists and health workers took part in the meeting.

Speakers called for a massive and concerted campaign by all in favour of Dots method for full cure of TB patients.

A total of 46 patients with TB disease have been detected in all upazilas of the district so far and they are being treated at different hospitals and clinics, official sources said.
