Examinees of SSC have achieved best result this year since the establishment of Barisal Education Board.

This is really commendable in view of the fact that entire southern zone of the country was devastated by the cyclone Sidr.

Number of examinees achieving GPA-5 has increased almost three times compared to the result of the last year. Percentage of examinees passing this year is 68.77.

48654 examinees appeared this year in SSC examination under the Barisal Board out of whom 33458 examinees have passed. Number of students achieving GPA-5 is 1659.

6868 examinees have got GPA A while 5945 have got GPA "A" ; 6738 students have received "B" grade while 10930 students have got C grade and 1378 students have got 'O' grade.

Controller of Barisal Board Md Shah Alamgir said that importance was given in five sectors due to which good results had been achieved. After result in 2007, in all the districts under the Barisal Board, meetings were held to exchange views and to inspire all concerned.

Steps were taken against examiners committing errors, strictness on test examination, training of examinees on scrutiny of English exam scripts and hard labour of examinees are really the reasons for such good result, Controller further said.

Out of successful examinees of Board 70.95% have passed from boys which percentage of successful girls is 66.50.
