I feel so sorry after hearing that five women were slaughtered in one family at Mehendiganj in Barisal. Such a henious crime could still happen in our society. It is an example, how furious the evil power on weak women! Later it is known that the tragedy took place because of land dispute. And the killer is a retired police officer. Repression on women is increasing day by day. In June 2008, 333 incidents happened against women, among them 73 were rap cases and 9 were acid throwing. In previous 6 months, the number of rape incident was 190.

This scenerio tells us how the women repression increased in different ways. It is a hopeless scenerio of law and order situation in our country.

Although this CTG has been trying to focus basically on law and order situation by separating judiciary from executive, police ordinance 2008, anticorruption, special tribunal, building new jail etc. But in budget there is no special allocation for women development which we can mention.

Our women don't know what is their right in an independent country because of illeteracy. Although some women representative are working but their activities only focused based. Women should be given more priority in every steps. By repressing them you can't think country's development in the long run. Therefore, I request present government to take stern action against evil power who always try to repress women and adopt a policy for wome development on urgent basis.
