The authority of Netrakona Pourashava has approved a proposed budget of Taka 21.31 crore for 2008-09 fiscal.

Mayor of the pourashava Nazrul Islam Khan formally announced the budget at a press conference at the conference room of the body on Thursday.

Highlighting the budget, the Mayor said of the total amount, Taka 2.89 crore will come from the revenue income of the pourashava and the rest will come from the government allocation and different development agencies.

In the budget, over Taka 17.50 crore has been earmarked for the development sector.

The mayor said that no new tax has been imposed on the tax prayers.

Responding to a question, the mayor said that the budget has been designed to increase the civic amenities in the pourashava.
