Quality primary education must for producing brilliant citizens

Speakers in a launching ceremony here Tuesday underscored the need for ensuring quality education at the primary levels to give a strong foundation of knowledge to the future citizens in flourishing their talents properly. They also stressed for further improving quality and standard of education and said that there is no alternative to quality education for producing talented and worthy citizens in building a developed nation.

They said this while addressing a discussion meeting titled "Role of URC in Improving Quality of Primary Education" organised on the occasion of launching the newly built building of Gangachara Upazila Resources Centre (URC) at Gangachara Upazila Parishad auditorium.

Chaired by Gangachara UNO Abu Nasar Mohammad Abdullah, the discussion meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Alhaj Khondker Atiar Rahman as the chief guest who formally inaugurated activities of the URC.

District Primary Education Officer Abdul Khaleque, Superintendent of Rangpur Primary Teachers Training Institute Kazi Nur Mohammad Azad, Instructor of URC Mahbubur Rahman, Upazila Education Officer of Gangachara Akhtari Parveen and educationist Abdur Razzaque, addressed.

Headmasters of different primary schools, teachers, upazila level government and NGO officials, local elite, community leaders, professionals and members of the civil society were present.

The speakers asked all of the primary level schoolteachers to conduct their moral obligation and responsibility with utmost sincerity and dedication to make the educational institutions the knowledge acquiring centres for producing brilliant citizens.
