A van-cart puller was electrocuted in Chatra Bandar under Pirganj upazila as he came in contact with a live electric wire on Monday.

The electric line, in by which he was electrocuted was taken illegally by a businessman, locals and police sources said.

The victim was identified as Mahfuzar Rahman, 35, son of Khabir Uddin of village Onontorampur in the upazila.

Mahfuzar Rahman was electrocuted when he was unloading timber from his van-cart.

A case was filed in these connections with Pirganj police station, the sources said.
