The foundation laying cere-mony of library and auditorium in memory of three freedom fighter brothers, who embraced martyrdom during the War of Liberation in 1971, was held at Satbaria village under Chauddagram upazila in the district on Friday.

The foundation laying ceremony was inaugurated by Sector Commander and former Chief of Army Staff Major Gen. (Retd) KM Shafiullah. The library and the auditorium are being built at a cost of Taka 16 lakh under the supervision of Zila Parishad. Valiant freedom fighter Maj. Gen (Retd) Syed Ahmed was present in the function as special guest.

The function, presided over by Chief Executive Officer of Zila Parishad Mohammad Asaduzzaman, was addressed, among others, by upazila nirbahi officer of Chauddagram Momtaj Uddin Ahmed and freedom fighter Mofizur Rahman Bablu.

A large number of people including freedom fighters and local elite were present on the occasion.
