45,000 farmers get subsidy in Meherpur

The subsidy on diesel purchase is being distributed among the farmers of the district on Thursday.

Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) sources said the listed farmers in three upazilas of the district have been receiving the subsidy.

A total of 45,000 farmers of the district will get Taka 74 lakh as subsidy. Sources said a total of 40,000 acres of land was cultivated by using pumps for irrigation purposes for which Taka 545 was allocated to irrigate per acre of land.
