The 64th birthday of noted Poet Nirmolendu Goon was celebrated at his birth place at village Kasban under Barhatta upazila in the on Saturday.

The Nirmolendu Goon's birth day celebration committee organised various colourful programmes, including a poetry recitation session, discussion and cultural function.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Barhatta upazila Mukammel Haque inaugurated the birth day celebration function as the chief guest by cutting a cake.

A discussion on "life and works" of Poet Nirmolendu Goon was held with president of the poet's birthday celebration committee Mansur Ahmed.
