Pollutech Bangladesh begins today in city

A three-day international exhibition, dubbed 'Pollutech Bangladesh 2008' begins today in the capital where different machinery and instruments on pollution control and environment management will be exhibited.

Adroit Environment Consultants is organizing the exhibition at Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Centre in the city. The Water Today is the co-organiser of the event.

Dr Nasir Uddin Khan, Managing Director of Adroit Environment Consultants, said this at a press conference held at National Press Club in the city yesterday.

Narrating the present adverse impacts of environmental pollution in Bangladesh, he laid emphasis on raising public awareness to solve the problem.

He said Dr Khandaker Rashedul Haque, DG, Department of Environment, will inaugurate the exhibition as the chief guest.

Shanmugam of Water Today, India was also present at the press conference.

About 40 global and local companies will demonstrate and display their technologies, services and products related to pollution control and environmental management he said and added the exhibition will create awareness among different business groups, play a matchmaking role between polluters and pollution control solution providers and also create business opportunity for the local interested business groups related to the environment management.
