One person was killed and another seriously injured in an accident on Sunamganj-Sylhet Highway on Wednesday.

The dead was identified as M Abdur Rouf, 46, Headmaster, Dargapasha High School, hailed from Puratanpara village in Sherpur.

Police sources said the accident took place when a Sunamganj-bound mini-bus hit an autorickshaw. The teacher was taken to a hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

Driver of the autorickshaw was admitted to the Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital in a critical condition.
