Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested four persons including a female drug peddler from different places of the district on Sunday.

Sources said, acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive at Jhenai Bridge area, on the outskirts of the district town at midnight and arrested three persons identified as Abul Fazal Jamil Ahmed, 20, Golam Rabbi, 22, and Kamruzzaman, 24, for allegedly drinking Phensidyl.

RAB personnel also seized five bottles of Phensidyl from their possessions.

Following their confession RAB arrested Ronoja Begum, 26, a drug peddler from Gitabari village under Islampur upazila and seized 10 bottles of Phensidyl from her possession.

Separate cases were filed with Sadar and Islampur police stations in these connections.
