Ship with Indian rice arrives at Ctg Port

BSS, Dhaka

A ship carrying about 2,237 tonnes of rice from India arrived at Chittagong Port yesterday, a press release of the Indian High Commission here said today.

The consignment was part of 40,000 tonnes of rice, 10,000 tonnes of wheat and 10,000 tonnes of skimmed milk powder, announced by the Indian government in July last year for the relief and rehabilitation of Bangladeshi people affected by floods and other natural disaster. With the arrival of this ship, India has so far supplied to Bangladesh a total of 18,288 tonnes of rice and 1,000 tonnes of skimmed milk powder under this assistance, the release added.
