Toxic hazards
Industry is the well known configuration portion of urban societies with commercial perspective. It is synonymous to mills and factories that contribute to the production of consumer needed item.
Though it meets the rapid demand of population, has contributed significantly to environmental pollution. Industry discharge toxic solid, liquid, gaseous substances that gradually and tremendously altered the earth system such as the atmosphere, the hydrosphere, and the lithosphere and ultimately the biosphere.
The major industries are Textile, Pulp and Paper, Electroplating, Leather and Tanning, Fertilizer, Sugarcane, Oil field and oil refinery and Power generation etc. These industries use a variety of chemicals in their production and produce hazardous by-products. The water is polluted due to presence of different industrial pollutants and cause detrimental effects on human being and other living organisms. The atmospheric ambient air is greatly losses it's quality to breath.
The industrial pollutants have long term detrimental effect on soil and gradually degrading soil fertility that ultimately affect agricultural production. Noise pollution is also one of the effects of industrial activities. The exposure or workers and other relevance people are badly affected.
So, industry highly responsible for air, water, soil, noise and other inter-related environmental pollution. Thus every industry should take protective measures like mechanical improvement, suitable design & planning and adequate waste treatment plant. The industry should use production methodology that must be environmentally sound or eco-friendly, having less toxic and hazardous by-products. Besides it's waste dumpsite should be specify having less pollution effects. Every industry should have environmental clearance certificate, effluent treatment plant, environmental impact assessment program and other regulating activities. The government's regulation should be strictly applied for sensitive environment. Make environment free from any kind of pollution to ensure sustainable and sound environment for the present people as well as for the future offspring.
