A girl with two cows was electrocuted at Kanchibari village under Sundarganj upazila in the district on May 21. The victim was identified as Majeda, 11, a student of class V and daughter of Mohir Uddin of the village, sources said.

Witness said, the victim and two cows came in contact with a live torn wire of Rangpur Palli Bidyut Samity when she was returning home on Wednesday afternoon with the cows.

After the incident, a pall of gloom descended in the area over the news of her tragic death.
