National football team played to a 1-1 draw with African Football XI in a practice match at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Motiur Rahman Stadium in Narsingdi on Thursday ahead of the 5th SAF Championship.

Abul Hossain put the national side ahead early in the 9th minute (1-0), while Jerry scored the equaliser for the African XI two minutes before the long whistle (1-1).

Some 2,000 soccer fans witnessed the match.

The national side will play the 2nd preparation match on Saturday (May 24) at the Banglabandhu National Stadium against a BFF selection - Sporting Independent, Dhaka.

In the SAF meet, Bangladesh, placed in Group B with co-hosts Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bhutan, will play Bhutan on June 4, Afghanistan on June 6 and Sri Lanka on June 8, all in Colombo.
