Hafiz accepts invitation letter while Delwar declines UNB, Dhaka BNP secretary general Khandaker Delwar Hossain yesterday refused to accept government invitation for political dialogue as the letter sent to him had no mention of his party designation. Acting office secretary of BNP Rizvi Ahmed said a Special Branch official carried the letter to Delwar's NAM apartment at about 9:30am. But Delwar regretted to accept the letter sent from the Chief Advisor's office. Reformist leader Maj (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, however, received the invitation letter Sunday night. That letter also made no mention of his designation, but he didn't mind. The government-sponsored dialogue, meant for framing modus operandi of a smooth transition from the critical interim period, will start from May 22 with the sitting with smaller political parties.
