Two children were injured seriously when a cocktail exploded in their thatched house at Birail village under Tanore upazila of the district Saturday night.

Quoting witnesses police said the cocktail was exploded suddenly in the house of one widow Kulsum Khatun, 35, at around 11.30 in the night that left her daughter Rubi, 10, and son Rubel, 6, injuries while they were asleep.

Police said Kulsum's neighbors Shahidul and his brother Sirajul had kept the cocktail in the house a couple of days ago. Both of them are hiding now.

The injured were undergoing treatment at Tanore Upazila Health Complex at present.

Police picked up Kulsum for interrogation and a case has been lodged with the police station.
