It is gratifying to learn that the United States Department of Agriculture(USDA) has contributed US$ 2 million to assist over 100,000 primary school children in the Sidr affected areas of Bangladesh. The USDA's contributions will be utilised by the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) through its 'Food For Education' project.

It is sincerely hoped that the United States will continue to extend her technical as well as financial assistances for the socio-economic development of Bangladesh.
