Social movement a must to build up drug-free society BSS, Gaibandha The speakers at the meeting stressed the need for making social movement against drugs to save the young generation and to build up a drug free society. They said this in an opinion exchange meeting on "the role of doctors and NGO workers to build up drug free society" organized by a local NGO at the auditorium of public library and club of the town here on May 12, sources said. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abu Muhammad Yousuf addressed the meeting as chief guest. Presided over by Advocate Shafiqur Rahman, the meeting was also addressed, among others, by Civil Surgeon Dr. M. Shamsul Haque, Kazi Aminul Islam Faku, Joynul Abedin and Shah Alam. The deputy commissioner in his speech said the young generation is the asset of the country but they are addicted to drugs due to various reasons and creating problems in the families and in the society. He also said to form an anti drug committee in the district with the leaders of different professional groups. A large number of people from all walks of life attended the meeting.
