4 pirates nabbed in Chittagong

Coastguard people nabbed four pirates while looting valuables from a vessel anchored at the outer anchorage of Chittagong maritime port slightly after zero hours on Saturday.

The coastguard officials said that the pirates had been caught red-handed while taking away valuables from a vessel at the outer anchorage.

The detained pirates were identified as Mohammad Jashim Uddin (34), Mohammad Shahnur (35), Mohammad Madan (24) and Mohammad Jashim (23), hailed from village Bajalpur under Karnaphuli police station.

Lieutenant Commander of Coastguard Ehsan Ullah told the reporters that the burglars were arrested from a vessel named MV Beauty. Legal action against the detainees had been launched.
