World Red Crescent and Red Cross Day was observed with great enthusiasm in the district town on Thursday.

To mark the day, blood donation campaign and a discussion was held at the Red Crescent Bhaban.

The meeting was presided over by Advocate Iqbal-Bin-Bashar while Deputy Commissioner of Chandpur SM Monirul Islam was the chief guest.

Among others, the meeting was addressed by Advocate Salimullah and Md. Shafiuddin Ahmed.

Earlier, a colourful procession was brought out in the town that paraded the main streets of the town.

On the occasion, relief materials were distributed among three hundred fishermen.
