Rajshahi University (RU) vice-chancellor formed some journalism rules and policy for working journalists in RU campus and asked to maintain this rules in professional life on Thursday.

Campus sources said, RU vice chancellor office last Thursday send a letter to RU Press Club with university envelope and VC office signed title' primary concept of news and some rules of journalism'.

The letter mentioned a total of 22 rules including conflict relation should not stay among the News Paper, news does not attack on religion sensitivity, journalist must mentioned news sources in his report for news authentic and journalist must confirm and keep clear idea before writing a corruption news.

The letter also mentioned a name one Monirul Islam and also added that journalists should also maintain some rules. After receiving the letter, working journalists of RU campus on Thursday met RU vice chancellor Prof Altaf Hossain at his office and asked his explanation about the letter.

RU VC confirmed the letter and said 'I think journalist should follow this rules adding that if you not like this rules then we can avoid it'.

Later, RU VC leaves his office without discussion of journalists.

Working journalist of RU expressed deep concern over the RU VC new rules for journalist and strongly protested the motive. They term the letter 'capture freedom of press'.
