An elderly man was beaten to death by some miscreants at Kakilamari village in Shahzadpur upazila of Sirajganj district on Saturday morning following the previous enmity.

The victim was identified as Shahid Pramanik, 65, son of late Madhu Pramanik of the village.

According to police that, an altercation had been going on between Pramanik group and Shikder group for long time.

Following the feud, a gang of miscreants numbering eight to ten belonging to Shikder group attacked on Shahid on his way at around 9.00 am, when he was going to local Baza'ar. The attackers beat him to death and left his body on the spot.

Being informed, Shahzadpur thana police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. Later it was sent to Sirajganj Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.

A case was lodged with Shahzadpur thana in this connection.
