Loko Natyadal presents 'Konjush’

Loko Natyadal, popular drama troupe, presented a special stage performance 'Konjush' at Mahila Samity Stage in the capital on May 9 to raise fund for the SA Breast Cancer Care and Research Institute. Bangladesh Mahila Samity directed the show. 'Konjush' is a transformation of the story of the French playwright Moliare's 'The Miser.'

Konjush is a comedy drama based on daily lifestyle of the residents of old Dhaka. Tarique Anam Khan transformed the drama, while Kamrun Nur Chowdhury directed it.

Abdullah Al Harun, Kamrun Nur Chowdhury, Shamsad Begum, Zahidur Rahman Piplu, Pronabanonda Chakrabarty, Yugin Gomez, Anwar Hossain, Nurul Islam Khan Ratan, Monika Biswas, Camellia Jelly, Abu Taher Liton Akash, Hafizur Rahman, among others, performed in the drama in various characters.

Avijeet Chowdhury, Saad Mohammad Shantu, Nur Tazmin Niru and Nuzhat Nayar Taniya were in music direction, Kamrun Nur Chowdhury in dress design, GM Sirajul Hossain in lighting, Smriti Rani Das in dance direction, Lovely Quazi in art direction, Pronabanonda Chakrabarty and Hafizur Rahman in props for the show.

Selling ticket money will be donated to the SA Breast Cancer Care and Research Institute, which is run by the Bangladesh Mahila Samity.

As a part of fund raising Loko Natyadal last year also organised charity show for the Mohila Samity.

Besides, to raise fund for ailing teenager Anup, drama activist Jaglul and for Protom Alo Charity Fund, Loko Natyadal also organised so many performances.

After establishment in 1981, Loko Natyadal has been performing to raise fund for the people who were affected in different natural disasters. It will continue its activities in future, said Abdullah Al Harun of Loko Natyadal.
