Young dramatist, director and music director Jaglul Alam died at 10:30am yesterday. He was 34. He was suffering from cancer for many days.

He got so many awards including Jakaria Padak introduced by Theatre, Tanushree Padak introduced by Natyadhara, Solaiman Mela Award of magazine Theatrewala for his contribution in drama arena.

He started his drama life by 'Dhaka Padatik' and at last he was involved with drama troupe 'Theatre.' In this group, he directed drama 'Chhoy Beharar Palki.'

After knowing his death news Nasir Uddin Yusuf Bacchu, Mamunur Rashid, M Hamid, Ferdousi Majumder, Keramat Mawla, Asaduzzaman Noor, Pijush Bondopadhya, Rokeya Rafique Baby, Azad Abul Kalam among others, went to see him for the last time.

Different drama, recitation, music and dance groups including Sammilito Sangskritik Jote, Bangladesh Group Theatre Fedaration, Abritti Samannoy Parishad, ITI Bangladesh Centre and Pathanatok Parishad expressed their deep shock and prayed salvation for his departed soul.
