Khulna move to zonal final beating Jhenidah by 15 runs UNB, Dhaka Khulna DSA advanced to the zonal final of the 28th national Cricket Championship beating Jhenidah DSA by 15 runs at the Jessore Stadium on Saturday. In the day's other two matches, Chandpur DSA moved to the zonal semifinal after a seven-wicket win over Rangamati DSA at the Comilla Stadium, while Naogaon DSA reached the zonal semis beating Dinajpur DSA by one wicket at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium (RDVS). Opting to bat first at the Jessore Stadium, Khulna DSA scored 175 for all in 49.2 overs with Riazul top scoring 73 runs off 121 balls, while Soumen Das scored 2nd highest 24 runs. Sajedul claimed three wickets for 46 runs, while Al Amin took two for 28 runs. In reply, Jhenidah DSA fell short of their target as they were bundled out for 160 in 48.3 overs with Azim making 42. Al Amin and Shameem scalped three wickets each for 28 and 34 runs respectively. At the Comilla Stadium, coin-favoured Rangamati DSA batted first to be all out for paltry 73 runs in 21.1 overs with Humayun scoring team highest 14. Jan-e-Alam captured three wickets for 13 runs. In reply, Chandpur DSA sailed to victory scoring the required 74 runs in 12 overs for the loss of three wickets. Bablu scored not 46, while Mosharraf remained unbeaten on 11. Batting first at the RDVS, Dinajpur DSA were dismissed for 147 in 40.2 overs with Faisal making 61. Arman, Masud and Saikat claimed three wickets apiece. In reply, Naogaon DSA reached victory scoring 151 runs in 49.3 overs for the loss of nine wickets, riding on unbeaten 50 runs from Zillur. Sayeem grabbed three wickets for 24 runs, while Afroze took two for 22 runs.
