Attack on cops in Bagmara: 5 looted arms recovered
Police recovered the arms looted from Taherpur outpost under Bagmara Police Station in Rajshahi from a pond at Naldanga in Natore yesterday. Focus Bangla Staff Reporter Police yesterday recovered all the five firearms looted from police patrol at Taherpur in Rajshahi from a pond at Manjigachha near Naldanga thana in the district. Police found an SMG and four 3o3 rifles dumped in the pond, 500 to 600 yards from Naldanga thana following confessional statement of a suspected outlaw, Bachchu alias Nishan. He was arrested by police from Hazratpur village under Sadar thana of Natore on Tuesday night. During interrogation he confessed to his involvement in the attack on the policemen and arms looting in Taherpur bazar area of Rajshahi. A policeman was killed and four others were wounded in the gun attack on a police patrol team by outlaws in Taherpur bazar area in Bagmara upazila on May 2. The outlaws also looted the arms of the policemen during the attack. Police later began combing operations in Rajshahi, Natore and Naogaon to arrest the attackers and recover the looted guns. Rajshahi Range DIG Mokhlesur Rahman visited the spot.
