Joint league champions Abahani Limited took joint lead in the Green Delta Insurance Metropolis Premier Division Hockey League crushing Sadharan Bima KS by

6-0 goals at Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium on Tuesday.

Abahani led the first half 3-0.

With the day's win, Abahani Limited share the top slot in the league table with another joint champions Usha KC having all win record, both securing full nine points from three matches.

Sadharan Bima KS remained at three points playing equal number of matches.

In the day's match, national colour forward Russell Mahmud Jimmy and Moududur Rahman Shuvo scored two field goals each, while Mamunur Rahman Chayan and skipper Mahbubul Ehsan Rana netted one goal apiece for the traditional "sky-blue" Dhanmondi outfit.

In the day's other match, Ajax SC tasted the first victory in their third league appearance beating hockey giants Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club by 2-1 goals after dominating the first half 1-0 at the same venue in the afternoon.

Captain Rahat Sarwar scored both the goals for the Elephant Road outfit Ajax SC, one in either half.

Rahat put Ajax SC ahead in the 6th minute with a field goal while he doubled the margin with a goal in the 46th minute from penalty corner.

Prasanta Kumar Sarkar of Dhaka Mariner Club reduced the margin scoring a field goal in the 65th minute.

Today's matches: Mohammedan SC vs Wari Club (2.30 pm), and Sonali Bank vs Bangladesh SC (4:pm).
