Teachers, students and employees the Hindu community of Rajshahi University urged the RU authorities to immediately construct a full-fledged Puja Mandap on the premises of Motiher Hall to facilitate teachers, students and staff belonging to Hindu community to worship.

Earlier, hundreds of Hindu community student both boys and girls under the banner of 'Sanatan Dharmo Sangha' met RU Vice-Chancellor Prof Altaf Hossain at his houses and pressed home their two-point demands. The demand including immediately construct a full-fledged Puja mandir and a separate Hindu community boy's hall on RU campus.

Sources said, RU VC received their demands and said RU authorities will construct a full-fledged Puja mandir complex at Motiher hall premises with in two months.

The students request and demanded immediately construct a full-fledged Puja mandir before Janmastami function, which will schedule on August 24.

During the time, RU Pro-VC Prof Mamnunul Keramat, proctor Enamul Haque, chief engineer Abdur Rahim and other university high officials were present.

Later, the students met journalist and expressed their dissatisfaction over not construct a full-fledged Puja mondir in RU campus last 10 years.

They criticised RU authorities that RU authorities several times assured them to construct a Puja mondir at Motihar hall premises but the demand went to hidden.

Earlier, the students collecting mass signature from teachers, students, officials and employees on the campus in favour of their demand.

Sanatan Dharmo Sangha, general secretary Subol Ghos Srijon told newsmen that after collecting mass signature, we will submit it to university chancellor also president and caretaker government chief to press home their demand.

He also informed that RU one hundreds teachers, five thousand students and one hundred employees belonging to Hindu Community.

When contacted RU VC Prof Altaf Hossain, told newsman that RU authorities will take initiative in this regard.
