Some 6,45,61,215 voters were registered across the country till today.

Informing this in the afternoon the Election Commission said voter registration would be completed by June. The draft voter list would be published on completion of registration and final list would be completed by September.

The EC is estimating that total number of voters would not be more than eight crore this time and it has already registered 81 percent of the total adult men and women.

Among the registered voters, National Identity Card has been distributed to some 97,85,063.

Registration of voters has been completed at 331 places out of 541 places in the country including thana, upazila and municipality. Enlisting of voters is now going on at 111 places and the task would start at rest 99 places this month.

The EC sources also said some 35,41,555 voters have been registered in Dhaka City Corporation area. Of them, some 2,65,752 have got the NID card.
