All set for formal dialogue with politicians UNB, Dhaka The caretaker government is armed with final preparations for starting off formal dialogue with the political parties on modalities of transition from the long-running interim regime. "The government has completed all its preparations for beginning formal dialogue with the political parties…Now we are talking to experts to make the dialogue productive," Commerce Adviser Dr Hossain Zillur Rahman told reporters after a meeting at Communications Ministry. Communications Adviser Ghulam Quader, LGRD Adviser Anwarul Iqbal, Law adviser Hassan Ariff and Dr Hossain Zillur-the quartet that held pre-dialogue talks with the political parties-sat in the meeting for an exchange of views over the latest situation. Eminent economist and former Adviser Dr Wahiduddin Mahmud was also present at the meeting. Zillur said the government would also hold dialogue with the representatives of civil society alongside with the political parleys. "Dialogue with civil society is essential, and political parties during the pre-dialogue talks reached a consensus of having meeting with citizens' groups," he said, adding that they are taking initiative to meet the civil-society members.
