Founder President of Sonar Bangla Party and former General Secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Mirazul Islam Abbasi passed away yesterday at a local hospital (Innalillah……Rajeun).

He was 50.

He was suffering from fatal kidney disease for last couple of years. His Namaz-e-janaza was offered yesterday at the Central Mosque of Dhaka University.

He will be laid to rest at his birthplace in Nawabganj district.

Despite his glorious political background, Mirazul Islam Abbasi lived an ordinary life. Hundreds of his friends and former co-workers gathered beside his death-bed at the Holy Family Hospital to see their friend, leader and colleague for the last time.

Political leader Shafiul Alam Prodhan, Advocate Garib-e-Newaz, Shamsuzzaman Milon, Sheikh Anwarul Hossain, Advocate Syed Mahbub Hossain, Journalist MA Aziz, Gaffar Mahmud and former student leader Faizul Hakim Lala visited the hospital to express their condolence.
