A joint seminar on 'Emergency Preparedness Plan for the Management of Diarrhoeal Disease Outbreak' will be held today at Sasakawa auditorium, ICDDR, B here.

The seminar is organized by Bangladesh government and ICDDR,B, a press release said here on Monday.

Dr Azharul Islam, Head of Short Stay Unit-Dhaka Hospital, ICDDR, B, Rick Johnston, Specialist, Water and Environmental Sanitation Section of UNICEF and Dr MM Jahangir Alam, Dhaka Medical College Hospital will be sharing their experiences and lesson learned during the floods of 2007 and Cyclone Sidr.

The presenters and policymakers will be discussing current management practices of the government health facilities during the diarrhoeal disease outbreaks.

Prof M A Faiz, Director General Health, Prof Dr Moazzem Hossain, Director (Disease Control) and Line Director CDC of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Dr Mark Pietroni, Administrator of Dhaka Hospital and Dr Ishtiaque A Zaman, Head, ERID of ICDDR, B will also join.
