Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) jointly awarded the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize, has acknowledged the continuing contribution of BUET Professor Dr. Ijaz Hossain, a press release said here on Wednesday.

IPCC has acknowledged Dr. Ijaz Hossain's contribution by issuing a copy of the award certificate for the Nobel Peace Prize. He is one of IPCC'S energy sector Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventory expert.

It has provided a copy of this award to only those who have contributed substantially to the work of IPCC over the years since the inception of the organization.

The 2007 Nobel Peace Prize was jointly awarded to IPCC and AI Gore, ex-vice president of USA.
