Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-5, in different anticrime drives, picked up three suspected criminals including a drug-peddler and seized smuggled goods and ganja from different areas in Natore and Dinajpur districts in 24 hours till this afternoon, RAB sources here said.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a sudden raid to Ekdala area under Natore Sadar Upazila and arrested two persons identified as Monsur Ali, 50, and Khoda Baksha alias Khodezul, 50, and seized huge smuggled goods like sari and panjabee valued at around Taka 6.74 lakh from their possessions.

In another raid conducted to Kanchon Colony area under Kotwali Police Station in Dinajpur district, a RAB team arrested the drug-peddler identified as Kayum Mian, 40, with 2.8 kilograms of ganja.

The arrested persons and the seized goods were handed over to the concerned police stations after recording separate cases in these connections.
