Sporting wicket? Of late the ICC has asked the BCCI to give its (BCCI) observation on the allegation that the Kanpur Wicket was supposedly prepared to favour the Indian spin bowlers who are typically good in the art in their own fields. Earlier, the Match Referee formally lodged his complain to the ICC Chief in this regard alleging that the Kanpur ground was not a level playing field; rather it was tilted to favour Indian spiners. Because of this pitch doctoring the Indians won the Future Cup 3rd Test levelling the series 1 - 1 with South Africa. Match records support that India in her 75 years of Test history has repeatedly adopted this unsportly technique to twist the result of the game when it is played on Indian grounds. Surprisingly, India has hardly produced any real pacer (140 Kmph+ level) till today. Let us wait and see what BCCI says in its own defence. Abu Musa Miah Lalbagh, Dhaka
