Rafiq Mira alias Mizan Daroga, 38, of Patuakhali town Mira Bari, was handed over to police after mass beating while tried to collection toll by identifying himself a police officer in Band Road area of the city.

Hayatul Islam, assistant commissioner of Barisal Metropolitan Police, said that Rafiq identifying himself as RAB source, police officer collected huge amount of money by black mailing people since long days.

He collected money as RAB source from businesspersons Delwar Hossain, Kanchan Ali, Nazrul Islam and others in different parts of the city and people detained him from Band Road area on Thursday noon while he demanded bribe as a police officer. A fake identity card dressed with police uniform recovered from Rafiq. On other hand, Sub Inspector Tarak Biswas of Rapid Action Battalion Unit-8 arrested Motahar Hossain, 38, a drug peddler and terrorist, from Kawnia area of the city on Thursday night.

A foreign made revolver with two rounds of ammunitions was recovered from him.

Motahar went to in Saudi Arabia after engaged in local conflict with rival BCL top terror Monaem group and lived in KSA for six years.

He returned Barisal and arrested for drug peddling in last month, but recently freed in bail. Both of arrestees sent to jail on Friday after primary interrogation and producing before court.
