Mass awareness to build corruption free society underscored Our correspondent Gaibandha District corruption prevention committee (DCPC) has taken up elaborate programmes to make the much awareness among the people against corruption in the district. The programmes include discussion meeting, holding of rallies, poster pasting and leaflet distribution, sources said. As a part of the on-going programmes and opinion exchange meeting against corruption organised by DCPC was held of the conference room of Gaibandha Govt. College here on March 30. Police Super Mollah Nazrul Islam addressed the meeting as chief guest and principal of the college Professor Ahsa Habib was the special guest. Presided over by Prof M. Mofazzal Hossain convenor of DCPC, the meeting was also addressed, among others, by Prof Moklasur Rahman, M. Abdus Sobhan, Abdul Latif Hakkani and Dr. E.K. Shafique. The speakers at the meeting explained the adverse impacts of corruption on an individual's life and on the country as a whole. So they stressed the need for building corruption free country by creating much a awareness among the people. In the meeting the students and the teacher of the college gave their commitments not to involve with the corruption activities in the future. Later, a big rally was brought out from the college campus and paraded the main roads of the town. More than 500 students including teachers-Participated in the rally bearing play cards, banners, festoons inscribed with anti corruption slogans. The rally has created much awareness among the people of the town.
