Magura Sadar Hospital beset with manifold problems Our Correspondent, Magura The Modernised Hospital in Magura district headquarter is beset with many problems. Patients suffering from heart diseases do not get any treatment as there is no post of heart spealist. It is alleged that local doctors advise heart patients to go to Dhaka for treatment. The posts of Eye and ENT consultans have remained vacant for a long time. The hospital has a generator to supply electricity during load shedding but it remains inoperative as no funals has been sanctioned to buy fuel to run it. The outdoor patients are often deprived of proper treatment as the doctors very often do not come to hospital in time. Local people alleged that agents of private clinics lure the poor patients to private clinics promising better treatment. Sanitary condition of the hospital leaves much to be desired. The floors of hospital are dirty as its toilets are unuseable, according to some patients. The people of the region have urged the Government to take adequate steps for the improvement of the hospital and fill up the vacant posts of consultants and doctors.
