Sudan keen to recruit Bangladeshi manpower

BUSINESS REPORT

Sudan is keen to recruit Bangladeshi manpower as the Sudanese economy has reached the take-off stage, reports BSS.

Visiting Sudanese Ambassador Daffa Alla Elhag Ali Osman said this when he called on Foreign Adviser Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury at the latter's office Thursday morning, according to a press release.

The ambassador, who is residing in Islamabad of Pakistan, has also handed over the draft of an agreement on 'political understanding', which is expected to be signed between the two countries shortly.

The envoy lauded the Bangladeshi peacekeepers in southern Sudan and said more peacekeepers from the 'hybrid' force in Darfur would be welcome.

Iftekhar recalled his discussion with Sudanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs Elsamani Elwasila Elsamani in Dakar on the sidelines of the 11th OIC Summit and congratulated the ambassador on the Sudan-Chad peace accord that was signed in Dakar recently.
